Adventuretime: Spiky Cherries

One of my new favorite things to do is to go on an adventure. An adventure could be taking the train instead of driving the car. Trying a new restaurant. Or simply going for a walk when it could rain.

Saturday, Aaron and I took an adventure walking through the Los Gatos Creek Trail in San Jose, CA. We decided that our adventure would include venturing out, passed our last stopping point, toward Vasona Dam. The walk was quite lovely, as the (not-so-rainy) clouds made wonderfully beautiful formations overhead and many of the trees were blooming beside the path. Along the way, we discovered a quirky little fruit. It appeared to be a spiky cherry. Of course, I harvested a specimen so that we might further investigate this curious berry.  Anyone know what it is?
